About me:

I am 29 years old and live in American Samoa. I am of Samoan descent and was mostly raised in the islands, however, I spent a great deal of my school years abroad in the United States.

I started writing poetry when I was in grade school, but thankfully those efforts have gone the way of the dinosaurs and no longer haunt me. My more recent efforts come in bursts of creativity and I can neither plan for them, nor can I always manage to write them down when they hit, which is unfortunate, but what I have managed to transcribe from the ether is safely backed up across multiple computers, where hopefully it will survive long enough to be published.

Favorite Artist:

John Keats, 1795-1821, English Romantic movement.

Keats is my favorite artist because his poetry is some of the most powerful, most moving, and most descriptive poetry I've ever been exposed to. The mania of his emotional swings is apparent in his writings, and his personal life reflects his desire and need to write. I like to think that there is something of Keats in all of us who aspire to write, and one day I hope to have works that will move others to feel both a passion for life and a passion for sorrow, as I believe Keats himself felt.
